The classic Acapulco Chair was designed in the 1950s in the Mexican beach town of the same name. While the chair is prolific in Mexico and exists in many different shapes and sizes, its original designer is unknown.
At GREENPOINTWORKS we determined that a few small changes could improve the overall design and function, and we set about hand-crafting these Acapulco Chairs right here in our beloved Brooklyn. We use locally-sourced American-made materials and are proud to support our community, paying fair wages and eliminating the carbon footprint of importation.
Each chair is custom fabricated upon order and consists of a solid steel frame woven with a hardy-yet-flexible vinyl cord; our cord is extruded with a UV-inhibitor, making our chairs year-round outdoor-worthy. We offer a number of color combinations for both frame and cord, and are also able to custom match any verifiable color source.
We are grateful and excited about the response we’ve received to our Classic Acapulco Chair, and it is with much pleasure that we now introduce you to our 3 newest products: the Acapulco City Chair, the Transmitter Table, and leather cording (available on both Classic Acapulco and Acapulco City chairs).
